Art & Design > Inorganic

In the Inorganic stage, I examine what I view as the furthest point from biology: everyday products and consumer electronics. Though fashioned by living beings, these ultimately exist apart from us. By embedding modern devices in geological materials—seen in works like Rock Camera, Rockorder, and my broader Rock Electronics series—I create an entirely new type of enclosure that traditional injection molding or standard manufacturing would consider impractical. This mash‑up of ancient rock and contemporary technology introduces an intentional anachronism. I question how inorganic resources typically travel through capitalist modes of production—becoming fleeting, mass‑produced commodities that bear no resemblence of its original form. All together, these pieces probe at the complex entanglement with nature, technology, and consumption.
